Team Secret came back from down 2-1 to win the final two games and top Vici Gaming to win the Grand Finals at ESL One Hamburg in Germany on Sunday, taking home the $125,000 grand prize.
In a back-and-forth match in which neither team could carry momentum for a long stretch, Secret opened strong, then held off a late charge to take Game 1. The next game was perhaps the day's tightest, lasting more than an hour before Vici pulled out the win. Game 3 was all Vici as Zhang "Paparazi" Chengjun dominated using Luna.
But Michal "Nisha" Jankowski on a Terrorblade proved to be the perfect remedy for Secret's ills. Nisha was unkillable in Game 4, setting up the decisive Game 5.
After 20 even minutes in the deciding game, Vici made a Roshan attempt. But Ludwig "zai" Wahlberg's Magnus found a reverse polarity for Secret, a move that devastated Vici. Less than 20 minutes later, the match was over.
The Mercedes Benz MVP prize went to Secret's Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng.
Secret punched its ticket to the final earlier Sunday by sweeping Virtus.pro 2-0 in the lower-bracket final. Vici had advanced to the final on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over Virtus.pro to advance through the upper bracket.
