LILBURN — Providence Christian’s volleyball team won the Gold Bracket of its eight-team playdate on Saturday.

The Storm posted victories over King’s Ridge (25-10, 25-11), Mount Bethel (25-14, 25-11), Atlanta Classical (25-11, 25-18), Fellowship Christian (26-24, 25-17) and Mount Pisgah (25-19, 25-14).

Providence (23-9) was led by Callie Chapman (14 aces, 25 digs, 99 assists), Makayla Gillespie (25 kills) and Taylor Lewis (10 aces, 37 kills on .452 hitting, 30 digs). Lewis also had her 500th career dig during the day.


Brookwood goes 2-2

EMERSON — Brookwood went 2-2 Saturday in the Rally Tournament.

The Broncos lost to Chattanooga Notre Dame (25-12, 25-12) and Brookstone (26-24, 25-22), and posted wins over Pacelli (25-15, 25-15) and Dalton (25-19, 19-25, 15-5).

The top performers were Abby DeLoach (19 kills, eight aces, 26 digs), Arianna Crayton (25 kills, three aces), Hannah Sanders (16 kills, five blocks), Keira Robinson (67 assists, 16 digs), Kate Phelan (31 digs, three aces, 10 kills) and Hana Kovacevic (three aces, 23 digs).

Wesleyan goes 2-2

DACULA — Wesleyan went 2-2 in Saturday matches in the Grayson Invitational at Dacula.

The Wolves defeated Springfield (Tenn.) 25-8, 25-11 and Prince Avenue Christian (25-20, 18-25, 15-10), and lost to Oconee County (25-17, 25-19) and Dacula (25-16, 10-25, 15-8).

Wesleyan (17-18) was led by Savannah Johnson (20 kills), Parker Tidwell (17 kills), Lauren Van Wie (62 digs) and Emily Godfrey (46 assists).
