The North Gwinnett football team, specifically the defense, highlighted the top award-winners Thursday night at the Touchdown Club of Gwinnett’s annual awards celebration at North Metro Baptist Church.

North had a Gwinnett-best three players earn top individual awards — Defensive Lineman of the Year Jared Ivey, Defensive Back of the Year Taylor Goodson and Inside Linebacker of the Year Barrett Carter. The other top defensive award went to Outside Linebacker of the Year Phillip Webb of Lanier.

Archer’s Carter Peevy was Quarterback of the Year, Parkview’s Cody Brown was Running Back of the Year, Central Gwinnett’s Daejon Reynolds was Wide Receiver of the Year and South Gwinnett’s Armond Anderson was Tight End of the Year. Mill Creek’s Parker Wroble was named Athlete of the Year, and Parkview’s Nolan McCord was Specialist of the Year.

Mill Creek's Josh Lovelady was named FCA Gwinnett Coach of the Year, and Brookwood coach Philip Jones and his program received the Beyond Better Award from Sports Medicine South for their work outside of football.
