NORCROSS — Norcross defeated Shiloh 7-5 Wednesday, improving to 2-0 on the young season.

Kedzie Howe earned the win with a four-inning effort in the circle. She allowed one run and three hits.

Faith Lawrence (2-for-4, two RBIs) and Serenity Starr (2-for-4, RBI) led the Blue Devils’ offense.

SOFTBALL

Collins Hill 8, North Atlanta 1

SUWANEE — Collins Hill posted its first victory of the season Wednesday with an 8-1 win over visiting North Atlanta.

Emily Whitehead pitched a complete game for the victory with 10 strikeouts. She also had two hits and drove in three runs.

Britney Phally (three hits, three runs, RBI), Monroe Oglesby (three hits, two RBIs) and Kendall Metts (two doubles, RBI) also were keys offensively.

Mountain View sweeps in tourney

SUWANEE — Mountain View won both of its games in the Rumble at the Ridge Tournament on Wednesday, defeating Lanier 13-2 and Social Circle 7-2.

The Bears' top hitters for the two games were Brooke Finley (3-for-6, five runs), Kellie Ervin (3-for-4, three runs, two RBIs), Ahmari Braden (3-for-5, four runs), Lauren Evens (3-for-4, home run, four RBIs), Sarah Currie (three-run home run), Taylor Wells (RBI triple) and Callie Shrope (two hits, two RBIs).

Mountain View (2-1) pitchers Currie, Braden and Bella Teems combined to give up just three hits in 10 innings while striking out 15.

Wesleyan 5, Pace Academy 2

PEACHTREE CORNERS — Wesleyan opened its softball season with a 5-2 victory over Pace Academy on Wednesday.

Jessica Nolan was the winning pitcher and finished with four strikeouts. She also had a hit and an RBI at the plate. Macey Cintron earned a save in relief and struck out four. She was 2-for-3 hitting.

Gracie Taylor (2-for-3, double), Reece Holbrook (RBI, triple), Ryley Kutter (2-for-3, RBI) and Christina McCoy (2-for-3, RBI, double) also had good games for the Wolves.
