Will Hardy

DECATUR – Greater Atlanta Christian held tough in the first half, but fell victim to Cedar Grove, which erupted for 33 second-half points to overwhelm the Spartans for a 47-0 win in their Region 5-AAA football opener Friday night at Buck Godfrey Stadium.

Will Hardy had two interceptions to lead the GAC (0-4, 0-1) defense, while senior linebacker Cole Boyden and sophomore defensive lineman Gold Chyrack also had a strong game for the Spartans, who were playing without five senior starters, including quarterback Josh Sharpe and Tennessee-committed lineman Addison Nichols.
