DUNWOODY – Wesleyan defeated Greater Atlanta Christian 5-2 on Friday in a baseball game moved to a park in Dunwoody due to wet field conditions at the Wolves' home stadium.

Charlie Taylor led Wesleyan, going 3-for-4 with a home run and a pair of doubles. Wyatt Copeland started and picked up the win with three innings where he struck out four. Jimmy Cox tossed two innings and struck out five and Holden Wilder finished the game with a pair of innings and also struck out five for the Wolves (1-0).

BASEBALL

North Gwinnett 5, Loganville 0

SUWANEE – North Gwinnett opened its season with a 5-0 win over visiting Loganville on Friday. Brandt Pancer was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs (1-0) while John Kirchner worked the final two innings and struck out five.

Josh Shuler led the offense with two hits, including a home run and drove in two while Matt Strain also added a hit and an RBI.

Duluth 11, Chattahoochee 1 (5 inn.)

DULUTH – Duluth's Jose Jennings went all five innings on the mound to help the Wildcats to an 11-1 win over visiting Chattahoochee on Friday. Jennings allowed two hits and struck out five to earn the win.

Matthew Giovetti led Duluth (1-1) with three hits while Robbie Hasenstab, Colin Jones and Deshaun Richardson each recorded two hits in the win.

Winder-Barrow 5, Peachtree Ridge 4

WINDER – Winder-Barrow edged Peachtree Ridge 5-4 on Friday. Dominick McIntyre led the Lions (1-1) with a double, two walks and scored twice. Matthew Gill drove in a pair of runs while starting pitcher Adam Jones lasted five innings and allowed three hits, no earned runs and struck out five and did not factor in the decision.

Buford 4, Lambert 0

BUFORD – Buford used four pitchers and struck out 16 as the Wolves blanked Lambert 4-0 to open its season on Friday. Riley Stanford started for Buford and was the winning pitcher while teammate Connor Sampers worked three innings and whiffed seven Longhorns.

Joseph Salvo staked the Wolves (1-0) to the only runs it would need in the first when he connected on a two run double.

BOYS LACROSSE

Whitewater 7, Brookwood 3

SNELLVILLE – Whitewater defeated host Brookwood 7-3 on Friday in a non-area contest. Davis Moore, Qahir Smith and Selassie Richardson scored goals for the Broncos (0-2).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Allatoona 63, Dacula 54

ACWORTH — Dacula's basketball season came to an end Friday with a 63-54 loss to Allatoona in the first round of the Class AAAAAA state playoffs.

Lamariyon Jordan had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Falcons. Khari Person had 15 points and Gabe Omoregie added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Milton 86, Central Gwinnett 63

MILTON — Milton eliminated Central Gwinnett 86-63 Friday in the first round of the Class AAAAAAA state playoffs.
