BUFORD — Courtney Martin’s goal in overtime lifted Buford’s girls lacrosse team to a 9-8 win over visiting St. Pius on Wednesday.

Jordan Garrison had four goals, Martin scored two and Kylee Kangas had two goals to keep the Wolves unbeaten at 5-0.

Jordyn Olivo also had a goal and Heather West added an assist for Buford.

BASEBALL

North Gwinnett 4, Collins Hill 0

SUWANEE – North Gwinnett's Brandt Pancer tossed six shutout innings as the Bulldogs (9-3, 4-0) blanked Collins Hill 4-0 in their Region 6-AAAAAAA matchup on Wednesday.

Cole Smith had an RBI double, Corey Collins also collected a double and Josh Shuler was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Grayson 14, South Gwinnett 4 (5 inn.)

SNELLVILLE – Grayson defeated South Gwinnett 14-4 in five innings in their Region 8-AAAAAAA contest on Wednesday. Blake Russell allowed one hit and no earned runs to earn the win for the Rams (9-4, 3-0).

Grady Bryant led the offense with two hits and three RBIs. Jimmy Lipsey collected two hits and two RBIs, Bodie Eilertson had two hits and drove in a run and Anthony Polanco recorded a triple and drove in a pair.

Norcross sweeps

NORCROSS – Norcross swept visiting Meadowcreek in their Region 7-AAAAAAA series on Wednesday. Cody Balsman was the winning pitcher in the opener and helped his own cause with two hits and three RBIs. Trey Goodman and Chase Bastuck also each collected two hits for the Blue Devils.

Norcross won 15-0 in Game 2 with Conor Early as the winning pitcher. Anthony Bonacci had two hits while Harris Celata recorded a double and two RBIs.

Mountain View 5, Duluth 0

DULUTH – Mountain View's Justin Manus needed only 61 pitches to dispatch Duluth 5-0 in their Region 6-AAAAAAA contest on Wednesday. Manus yielded only four hits, struck out four in going the distance for the Bears (7-3, 3-0).

D.J. Hays led the offense with two hits while Max Gault and Ryan Westfall each had a hit, scored a run and drove in a run.

Archer 14, Shiloh 4

SNELLVILLE – Archer defeated host Shiloh 14-4 in Region 8-AAAAAAA on Wednesday. Jore Arispuro was the winning pitcher for the Tigers (4-7, 2-0). Grant Keeler had two hits and three RBIs while Max Cruz netted three hits and drove in four.

Mill Creek 13, Dacula 0 (4 inn.)

HOSCHTON – Mill Creek defeated Dacula 13-0 in four innings on Wednesday. Keaton Anthony picked up the win on the mound for the Hawks. Brendan York led the offense with a hit and two RBIs. Tim Simay, Anthony, Alek Boychuk, Bryce Sarazen and Garner McKeon each had two hits and drove in a run.

Brookwood 7, Lambert 5

SUWANEE – Brookwood defeated host Lambert 7-5 on Wednesday in a non-region contest. Dylan Lonergan was the winning pitcher, tossing three innings. Jonathan Jamie earned the save for the Broncos (10-3).

Wes Franklin was 3-for-4 with a home run while Josh Sharp and Josh Sosa each added two hits in the win.

Greater Atlanta Christian 5, North Hall 4

NORCROSS – Greater Atlanta Christian defeated visiting North Hall 5-4 in Region 7-AAA action on Wednesday. Zac Mixon led the offense with a homer and Jake Johnson went 5 2/3 innings in relief to secure the win. The Spartans move to 8-3 overall and 4-1 in the region.

Wesleyan 11, Landmark Christian 0

FAIRBURN – Wesleyan blanked host Landmark Christian 11-0 on Wednesday. James McCoy led the offense with three hits, including a three-run home run, and five RBIs. Jamie LaFramboise also connected on a three-run homer while Hunter Haran added two hits and drove in a run for the Wolves (11-0, 3-0).

GIRLS TENNIS

Mill Creek 5, Collins Hill 0

HOSCHTON – Mill Creek dispatched Collins Hill 5-0 on Wednesday. Lauren Bell and Bailey Northcutt along with Gabby Griffin and Gabby Dejan took the doubles points. Brooke Bolton, Kristen Bogui and Emily Miller won in singles.

Greater Atlanta Christian 4, North Hall 1

GAINESVILLE – Greater Atlanta Christian defeated North Hall 4-1 on Wednesday. Erin Hoover and Caroline Lowenstein won in singles for the Spartans (7-2, 3-0). Sara Daye and Belle Shirley along with Jillian Hutson and Elizabeth Walton took the doubles points.

Wesleyan 3, Providence Christian 2

PEACHTREE CORNERS – Wesleyan defeated visiting Providence Christian 3-2 on Wednesday. Sweeping the doubles points for the Wolves (4-2) were Tinsley Bertram and Katherine Gott along with Grace Bowling and Kate Lalley.

Mill Creek 5, Collins Hill 0

HOSCHTON – Mill Creek swept Collins Hill 5-0 on Wednesday. Andre Izadi, Manu Pareek and Travis Shields won in singles. Thomas McCall and Brandon Song along with David Izadi and Grant Zari won in doubles.

Greater Atlanta Christian 5, North Hall 0

GAINESVILLE - Greater Atlanta Christian swept Region 7-AAA foe North Hall 5-0 on Wednesday. Cole Bryant, Jack Olinger and Nico Warner won in singles. Will Hawkins and Owen Jacobson along with Liam Hosfeld and Will Trocchi won in doubles for the Spartans (6-3, 3-0).

PEACHTREE CORNERS – Wesleyan swept Providence Christian 5-0 on Wednesday. Jack Jones, Grayson Balloon and Jay Arora won in singles. Nick Follett and Dakota Early along with Am Lambert and Harris Leatch took the doubles points for the Wolves (6-2).

Hebron Christian 5, Riverside Military 0

GAINESVILLE – Hebron Christian swept host Riverside Military 5-0 on Wednesday. Seith Blahnik, Garrett Meek and Dylan Montrose won in singles. Jack Goldschmidt and Porter Josephson along with Grant Miller and Jeff Courtney won in doubles for the Lions (7-0).

BOYS GOLF

Parkview 172, Grayson 207

SNELLVILLE – Parkview defeated Grayson 172-207 in a match played at the Country Club of Gwinnett on Wednesday. Matthew Kim shot a 42 and Camden Mullin had a 43 for the Panthers.

GIRLS GOLF

Parkview 185, Grayson 193

SNELLVILLE – Parkview downed Grayson 185-19 on Wednesday in a match played at the Country Club of Gwinnett. Darcy Stanton shot a 58 to lead the Panthers.
