NORCROSS – Javan Brown threw for three touchdown passes and five different running backs scored as Norcross opened its Region 7-AAAAAAA football schedule by cruising to a 54-0 win over Dunwoody on Friday night at Blue Devil Stadium.
All three of Brown's TD passes of 13 yards to Nakai Poole, 28 yards to Tyson Jarrell and 54 yards to Poole came during a second quarter in which the Blue Devils (3-2, 1-0) blew open a 14-0 lead after one quarter and took a 42-0 lead into halftime.
The early lead came on first quarter TD runs of 13 yards by A.J. Watkins and 2 yards by Lawson Luckie.
Michael Ammonds (2 yards) and Dontae McKinney (22 yards) closed out the scoring in the second half for Norcross, which chewed 218 yards on the ground on 26 team carries, while throwing for 167 yards on 8 of 11 passing from Brown, all in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Blue Devils held Dunwoody (1-3, 0-1) to just 123 total yards, all on the ground.
