Mercer’s football program landed commitments from North Gwinnett seniors Devin Crosby and Taylor Goodson this week.

Goodson, a 5-foot-8, 185-pound safety, was the Touchdown Club of Gwinnett’s Defensive Back of the Year last season, as well as a first-team all-county selection by the Daily Post. He had 68 tackles, 10 pass breakups, 4 interceptions, 3 sacks and a fumble recovery as a senior.

North Gwinnett’s Taylor Goodson (2) tackles Mill Creek’s Parker Wroble during a Region 6-AAAAAAA game last month. Goodson and the No. 4 state-ranked Bulldogs face another tough task when they hit the road for a state semifinal game at top-ranked Lowndes on Friday.

Crosby, a 5-9, 215-pound running back, was a first-team All-Region 6-AAAAAAA selection last season, as well as a third-team all-county pick by the Daily Post. He rushed for 1,414 yards and 19 touchdown as a senior.
