Discovery's Jabin Leake (44) goes for a tackle against Central Gwinnett.

Peachtree Ridge Lions (8-AAAAAAA)

Coach: Reggie Stancil

Record: 1-0

Last week: Had a bye

Discovery Titans (7-AAAAAAA)

Coach: Efrem Hill

Record: 1-1

Last week: Beat Kennesaw Mountain 27-22

Both teams enter this game with the momentum of victories. Peachtree Ridge won its opener 30-28 over Pebblebrook, then had a bye last week.

Brandon Cade (20 rushes, 150 yards, touchdown) and Nick Best (rushing TD, passing TD) were among the standouts on offense, which took advantage of a big night from the offensive line of Alex Carman, Cameron Ellerby, Cade Fox, Matthew Webster and Amari McNeill. Jaylen Madden, Carlos Fuller and Cortlin Tatum led the Lions’ defense.

“They’re going to be able to run the ball,” Hill said of Peachtree Ridge. “Coach Stancil does a lot with them offensively. They use a lot of motion. They have a big offensive line, a good quarterback, good running backs. Defensively, they’re always pretty stout. We’re going to have to make less mistakes than we did last week.”

Despite those mistakes, Discovery rebounded from an opening loss to Central Gwinnett and defeated Kennesaw Mountain. Quarterback Rashad Ray was a spark, accounting for three TDs, while Richard Seay Jr. rushed 23 times for 122 yards and a score. Devin Martin had a TD catch and an 87-yard kickoff return.

Ja'Quearies Stocker (12 tackles, one for loss, one fumble recovery, one pass breakup), Jordan Ferrell (eight tackles, one forced fumble, two pass breakups), J.J. Hawkins (five tackles, two for losses, two sacks) and Christian Gray (seven tackles, two for losses) led the Titans’ defense.

When: Friday, 7:30 p.m.

Last meeting: Peachtree Ridge won 25-7 last year
