NORCROSS — Buford’s girls basketball team continued its undefeated season with a 48-42 win over Norcross Friday afternoon in the Hawks-Naismith Classic.

The Wolves (10-0) had a commanding 35-28 lead in the final seconds of the third quarter before Blue Devils sharpshooter Devyne Turner nailed a 3-pointer from halfcourt as the buzzer sounded, cutting the Buford lead to four.

Norcross carried the momentum into the fourth quarter, sinking two more 3-point shots early in the quarter to take a two-point lead over the Wolves.

The lead proved to be short-lived, though, as a pair of Buford layups from Ashyia Willis and Tate Walters put the Wolves back in control.

The quick shift of momentum was all it took to push past Norcross as the Blue Devils struggled to score late, mustering just three more points in the final five minutes of the game.

A few more Buford free throws put Norcross away for good.

Walters led the way again for the Wolves with 21 points and five rebounds. Turner finished with 20 points and four rebounds for Norcross.
