PREP ROUNDUP: Alex Flood’s second no-hitter of the season sends Brookwood past Lakeside-Dekalb 5-0

SNELLVILLE – Brookwood shut out visiting Buford 3-0 on Wednesday.

Alex Flood went three innings to improve to 7-1 on the season for the Broncos (16-6). Wesley Franklin went three innings to earn his fourth save of the season. Garry Garrett and Jack Spyke each had a hit and an RBI to lead Brookwood.


Dacula 5, Habersham Central 4

DACULA – Dacula's Jackson Smith smacked a walk-off two-run home run to lift the Falcons to a 5-4 win over Habersham Central on Wednesday.

Jackson's dramatics made Gage Felton the winning pitcher. Felton went one inning in relief of starter Jarrett Jenkins who tossed six innings and allowed three earned runs.

Marcerio Allen and Jojo Lopez each had a hit, walk and run for Dacula (8-12, 3-5). Zack Devries also had a hit and an RBI in the win.

Hebron runs past George Walton in a doubleheader

MONROE – Hebron Christian Academy stole 20 bases in two games to sweep George Walton 13-6 and 12-6 on Wednesday.

In Game 1, Jackson Hackney led the offense with two hits and drove in a pair of runs. Six other players had a hit to make a winner of Mason Ashby on the mound.

Zach Kwiatkowski was the winning pitcher in Game 2 as Ashby provided a pair of hits and three RBIs. Jason Lockhart had two hits and two RBIs, Jackson Boyd also had two hits and scored four runs while Jack Ihm and Thomas Headley each collected two hits for the Lions (10-10, 4-3).

Greater Atlanta Christian sweeps East Hall

NORCROSS – Greater Atlanta Christian defeated East Hall 8-4 and 8-3 in a pair of Region 7-AAA games played Wednesday.

Presley Field went five innings on the mound to earn the win in the opener for the Spartans (9-9-1, 5-6). Field allowed five hits and struck out six. Shane Lussier had two hits, scored three runs and stole three bases to lead the offense. Harrison Stogner collected two hits and drove in a pair of runs while Pirman Brechbuhl added two hits.

In Game 2, Dawson Hamilton was the winning pitcher, going three innings and not allowing an earned run. Brechbuhl blasted a two-run home run, Stogner added another three hits to his total for the day while driving in two more runs, while Ford Hallock and Lussier each contributed two hits in the win.

North Gwinnett 3, Collins Hill 1

SUWANEE – North Gwinnett's Coulson Buchanan pitched a complete game as North Gwinnett held off Collins Hill 3-1 in Region 6-AAAAAAA on Wednesday.

Buchanan allowed two hits and struck out three as the Bulldogs improved to 19-4 overall and 10-1 in the region.

Corey Collins delivered the heavy lumber with a double and a home run and drove in two runs. Jarrett Burney added two hits while Chase McCulloch drove in a run.

Winder-Barrow 5, Lanier 0

SUGAR HILL – Winder-Barrow shutout host Lanier 5-0 on Wednesday. Ben Saxon led the Longhorns (8-13, 3-5) with a pair of hits while Jayden Jackson and Chase Coursey also had a hit for Lanier.
