The New York Yankees acquired right-hander Ryan Dull off waivers from the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday.

Dull, 29, appeared in seven games with the Oakland Athletics this season and posted a 12.00 ERA. He was claimed off waivers by the Giants on Aug. 5.

In 167 career relief appearances over five seasons (2015-19) with Oakland, Dull is 8-9 with four saves and a 4.08 ERA and 163 strikeouts in 167 2/3 innings.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Yankees designated right-hander Brady Lail for assignment. Lail, 26, allowed three runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday in his lone appearance for New York.
