A day that began with three teams tied for first place looked like it would end with two at the top as Week 6 of the League of Legends LCS Summer Split began on Saturday.

But the last-place team in the split had other ideas.

Team Liquid topped Counter Logic Gaming in a matchup of first-place teams to improve to 8-3 in the standings, but Cloud9 failed to take advantage, falling to last-place Echo Fox to leave Team Liquid alone in first. Team Solo Mid joined Counter Logic and Cloud9 at 7-4 with a win over Clutch Gaming.

FlyQuest beat Golden Guardians -- the team's third straight win -- and 100 Thieves topped OpTic Gaming in the day's other matches. FlyQuest and 100 Thieves improved to 4-7.

In the nine-week summer regular season, the matches are a single game in a double round-robin format.

The top six of the 10 teams will advance to the playoffs, with the top two teams getting byes to the semifinals.
