The Kansas City Royals made a speedy roster adjustment Friday, as outfielder Terrance Gore was designated for assignment.
Gore, 28, played in just 37 games for the Royals this season going 14-for-51 (.275). Utilized primarily for his base-stealing abilities and outfield play, Gore was 13-for-18 in stolen base attempts in his limited duties this season.
The Royals already have speedster Billy Hamilton on the roster, so Gore was removed after outfielder Bubba Starling was called up to the major leagues for the first time Thursday.
In six seasons of limited action with the Royals and Chicago Cubs, Gore played in 100 games, batting .224, with just three extra-base hits in 67at-bats. He stole 40 bases in 49 attempts.
