After reportedly failing to land Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon, Evil Geniuses appear to have finally found their mid laner.
According to an ESPN report Tuesday, EG will sign former Vitality star Daniele "Jiizuke" di Mauro, rounding out a roster that, at the beginning of the offseason, had no players.
EG acquired Echo Fox's League of Legends slot for $33 million in September, marking the franchise's return to LOL after an absence of more than five years.
The Tuesday report added that Chovy will sign with South Korean side DragonX. Chovy left Griffin last week and became one of the hottest commodities on the market.
The report cited sources saying that EG offered Chovy a multi-million dollar contract, but the 18-year-old opted for less money with DragonX to reunite with a former coach and teammate.
In early November, EG and Cloud9 struck a multi-million dollar deal that brought EG four players: jungler Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen, support Tristan "Zeyzal" Stidam, top laner Colin "Kumo" Zhao and AD carry Matthew "Deftly" Chen. Then EG reached a buyout agreement with 100 Thieves for Bae "Bang" Jun-sik, a former world champion AD carry.
According to ESPN, EG's League of Legends Championship Series starting lineup will consist of Kumo, Svenskeren, Jiizuke, Bang and Zeyzal.
