In a dramatic move in the hours before the start of the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals in Denmark, Renegades announced their return to competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive play by signing the Grayhound roster.

The rebooted Renegades then immediately went to work, taking on Astralis on Day 1 of the Season 10 finals on Tuesday in Odense. The return was anything but a welcome one for Renegades, however, as they lost 16-8 to fall into the lower bracket in Group B.

Nonetheless, it was quite a turnaround for a franchise that was knocked out of the CS:GO circuit in late October when its roster was transferred to 100 Thieves.

That club -- like the new Renegades, made up primarily of Australian players -- made it to five majors and reached the playoffs in two of them in four years.

Here is the new Renegades roster:

--Liam "malta" Schembri

--Ollie "DickStacy" Tierney

--Christopher "dexter" Nong

--Simon "Sico" Williams

--Joshua "INS" Potter

--Field Level Media
