Liquid became the second team confirmed for the $200,000 ESL One New York, joining Astralis, the team they recently replaced atop the CS:GO world rankings.
The event will take place Sept. 26-29 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the fourth consecutive year.
Liquid won two of the first three maps in last year's grand final, but eventually fell 3-2 to mousesports.
Liquid is on top of the standings for the $1 million Intel Grand Slam Season 2 circuit, with Astralis No. 2.
All games in the tournament will feature a best-of-three format except for the grand final, which will be a best-of-five series.
The playoffs will be held Sept. 28-29 and will be open to the public.
The eight-team event still has four invitations remaining, with the final two spots determined by qualifiers in Europe and North America.
