NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald earned an elite rating of 99 in Madden NFL 20, which is scheduled to be released August 2 across multiple platforms.
Donald, the Los Angeles Rams' interior pass rusher regarded as an MVP candidate at defensive tackle, is a repeat '99 Club' member along with Chicago Bears outside linebacker Khalil Mack. Mack was given a 99 rating in Madden 19, but started the season with the Oakland Raiders.
Donald posted 20.5 sacks last season.
Seattle Seahawks middle linebacker Bobby Wagner and '99 Club' first-timer DeAndre Hopkins, an All-Pro wide receiver with the Houston Texans, round out the elite tier of players as rated by the popular Madden franchise.
Hopkins learned of his rating on Friday and posted to his Twitter feed (@DeAndre Hopkins) "Can't believe I'm 1 of 4 players ranked 99 in madden, guess that mean I'm a cheat code now."
No quarterbacks made the 99 Club list for Madden 20, which is a major shift from previous seasons. Last year, Drew Brees (New Orelans Saints), Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) and Tom Brady (New England Patriots) were all celebrated in the elite tier by Madden 19.
