The St. Louis Cardinals acquired outfielder Austin Dean in a trade with the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.

Dean, the Marlins' minor league player of the year in 2018, has 98 games of major league experience over two seasons, hitting 10 home runs with 35 RBIs in 291 at-bats. The 26-year old is a career .223 hitter.

The Cardinals sent minor league outfielder Diowill Burgos, who turns 19 later this month, to the Marlins in the deal. Burgos batted .382 with nine home runs in 36 games in the Dominican Summer League in 2019. With the Cardinals' Gulf Coast League team last year, he appeared in 22 games, batting .205 with two home runs and eight RBIs.
