The Westmont College (Calif.) women’s swimming program announced the signing of Grayson senior Rachel Peden this week.

Peden was a four-year varsity swimmer and state qualifier in the 50 and 100 freestyle races, as well as the 100 backstroke. She was the Rams’ High Point Swimmer Award winner as a junior and a senior. She trains with the Gwinnett Aquatics Swim Club.

Westmont’s swim team is entering its second season — it placing 22nd earlier this year at NAIA nationals.

"I am thrilled that Rachel will be joining the class of 2024,” Westmont coach Jill Jones Lin said in a release. “Rachel is going to help us tremendously in the sprint events and relays, not to mention her sweet spirit and determination. I can't wait to start working with her."
