Wesleyan’s Madison Kerpics

LOGANVILLE — Class A Wesleyan won its softball showdown with AAAAAAA Grayson 2-0 Monday night behind another stellar performance from Madison Kerpics.

The senior hurled a four-hit shutout over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two. She pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the third inning with a flyout and a strikeout.

The Wolves (15-0) used that momentum and scored the game’s only two runs in the top of the fourth. Jahni Kerr led off the fourth with a double, Gracie Taylor legged out an infield single and the duo executed a double steal. After an intentional walk to Reece Holbrook, Tinsley Bertram came through with a two-out, two-run single.

Grayson's Kylie Macy held the Wesleyan offense in check outside of the fourth-inning rally. She allowed only three hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out 15.

The Rams were led offensively by Aaliyah White (1-for-4, single), Kailyn Jones (1-for-3, double) and Skyler Gilbert (2-for-3, two singles).
