LILBURN — Parkview’s volleyball team celebrated Senior Night with a pair of wins on Tuesday.
The Panthers (17-9) defeated Loganville Christian 25-16, 25-14, and won 23-25, 27-25, 15-6 over Winder-Barrow.
Jordan Godfree had seven aces, 14 kills, 10 assists and eight digs in the victories, while Sarah Ramsey had a team-high 26 assists. They were supported by Meg Youngblood (15 digs), Abby Schirm (13 digs), Kayla Turnbow (nine kills) and Mia Mattson (10 digs, eight kills).
Buford wins twice
LAWRENCEVILLE — Buford swept its first two Region 8-AAAAAA matches of the year Tuesday night.
The Wolves (13-0) defeated host Central Gwinnett 25-2, 25-4, and topped Dacula 25-16, 25-17.
Mikayla Hayden led the offense with 11 kills and Sydney Austin added eight kills. Carleigh Hllier led the defense with 12 digs.
LAWRENCEVILLE — Dacula split its region-opening matches Tuesday at Central Gwinnett.
Buford defeated the Falcons 25-16, 25-17, but Dacula earned a split with a 25-6, 25-14 win over Central.
The Falcons (12-10) were led by Season Dickenson (six kills), Emily Noce (six kills), Arissa Shepherd (five aces, nine digs), Kaya Gusaeff (five aces, six digs) and Anna Beth Stokes (four aces, five kills, two blocks, 20 assists, six digs).
Greater Atlanta Christian tops Mount Vernon
NORCROSS — Greater Atlanta Christian won a five-set battle with Mount Vernon on Tuesday.
The Spartans rolled 15-4 in the decisive set after winning the first two sets (25-16, 25-16) and dropping the next two (25-21, 25-22).
Hebron goes 2-0
ATLANTA — Hebron Christian opened region play with a sweep of Galloway (25-12, 25-10) and Providence Christian (25-20, 25-13).
The Lions were led by Malia Fisher (21 kills, seven blocks), Carly Heidger (14 kills), Emily Sperring (nine kills), Angelia Bonner (28 assists), Morgan Smith (17 assists) and Cherokee Terry (13 digs).
Hebron is now 25-2.
Providence goes 1-1
ATLANTA — Maisy Hufford hit the 500 career kills mark Tuesday night in Providence Christian’s split of its region-opening matches at Galloway.
Hebron defeated the Storm 25-20, 25-13, but Providence (11-11) topped Galloway 26-24, 25-21.
Hufford finished with 19 kills, and teammate Taylor Lewis had four aces and 14 digs.
Wesleyan tops AIS
ATLANTA — Wesleyan won Tuesday 25-16, 25-21 over Atlanta International.
Alden Pridgen and Parker Tidwell had five kills each for the Wolves (16-3, 1-0), while Lauren Van Wie had 16 digs.
