SNELLVILLE — Grayson knocked off Brookwood 16-6 Monday for its first Region 4-AAAAAAA baseball win of the season.
Tyler Phillips powered the Rams victory, going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and six RBIs. Mason McCree (3-for-5, two RBIs, three runs), Austin Williamson (2-for-4, three runs) and Alex Espinoza (2-for-4, two RBIs) also stood out in the win.
Grayson’s Rayne Fry (3-3) pitched five innings for the win. He struck out 10 and gave up three earned runs.
Brookwood’s top hitters were Brendan Keller (2-for-4, RBI, run), Clinton Harris (1-for-1, RBI), John Beverly (1-for-3, RBI, run) and Ethan Reyes (1-for-3, run).
Grayson improves to 8-11 overall and 1-3 in the region, while Brookwood falls to 10-5 overall and 2-2 in the region.
The two teams play again Wednesday at Grayson and Friday at Brookwood.
