The Gwinnett County Tipoff Club recognized the best in local high school basketball Wednesday night, presenting its season-ending awards at the county’s annual all-star games at Grayson.

The top awards went to Wesleyan’s Mikayla Coombs and Norcross’ Rayshaun Hammonds as Gwinnett players of the year. Coombs has signed with Connecticut and Hammonds has signed with Georgia.

The girls coach of the year award, as well as team of the year, was shared between Buford and Wesleyan, which won state titles this season. Buford is coached by Gene Durden and Wesleyan by Jan Azar. The boys coach of the year and team of the year honors went to Buford’s Eddie Martin and his state champion Wolves.
