Marisa Miller homered three times in North Gwinnett softball's season-opening win Thursday.

SUWANEE — Marisa Miller got the North Gwinnett softball season rolling in a big way Thursday.

Miller homered three times and drove in half of the Bulldogs’ runs in a 12-0 rout of Lambert in The Rumble at the Ridge Tournament.

Jaylyn Benson had two hits, including a home run, and Bella Faw and Grace Connelly also had two hits each for the Bulldogs.

Amber Reed pitched three innings to earn the win. She struck out four and allowed only one hit.


Mill Creek 10, West Forsyth 0

CUMMING — Mill Creek rolled to a 10-0 victory at West Forsyth on Thursday.

Dallis Goodnight went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases to lead the Hawks. Isabella Sanchez (2-for-2, double, RBI) and Angelica Gallegos (1-for-2, double, two RBIs) also had big games.

Lindsay Kline was the winning pitcher, allowing only three hits in five innings.

Archer 7, Loganville 1

LAWRENCEVILLE — Kailynn James powered Archer to a 7-1 win over visiting Loganville on Thursday.

James was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits in five innings, and also went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs.

Olivia Craig and Katelynn Walls each went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Tigers.

GAC 13, Providence 0

NORCROSS — Greater Atlanta Christian School defeated Providence Christian 13-0 in four innings Thursday, giving new head coach Dave Martin a win in the season opener.

Sydney Deardorff struck out six to earn the win, and also was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Rachel Pellegrini (2-for-3, RBI), Caroline Marschalk (2-for-2, three RBIs) and Annie Ahmed (3-for-3, four RBIs).

Anna Reeves and Maymie deMayo had hits for the Storm (0-1), and Megan Knight added a walk.

Despite allowing just four earned runs and striking out five, deMayo took the loss in the circle.
