Malachi Jeffries
BUFORD — Seckinger’s baseball team picked up a walk-off win Saturday 9-8 over No. 4-ranked Walnut Grove, winning the Region 8-AAAA best-of-three series between the two.
Malachi Jeffries’ double in the bottom of the seventh inning brought home Jordan Oldknow for the game-winning run.
Jeffries had two hits and two RBIs, and Oldknow had a hit and scored two runs. Jin Kasuya (two hits, two runs), Jojo Montgomery (one hit, one RBI), Sebastian Hernandez (two RBIs), Caleb Fleitz (one hit, two RBIs) and Isaiah Williams (one hit, one run) were other standouts at the plate.
Shia Carnish pitched a scoreless inning of relief to earn the win. Maverick Torres pitched six innings with six strikeouts for Seckinger.
