SUWANEE — Peachtree Ridge notched two big wins in Region 6-AAAAAAA play on Tuesday night with defeats of Collins Hill and North Gwinnett at Collins Hill.

Zora Thomas pounded 11 kills in the Lions' 25-9, 26-24 sweep of the Eagles. Nicole Landry followed with eight kills with Carson McAfee recording 15 digs.

That same trio of players came through again in the match against North as Peachtree Ridge (14-7, 3-0) beat the Bulldogs in three sets 25-21, 16-25, 15-9. In that match, Thomas had 15 kills, Landry eight kills and McAfee 20 digs.

Mill Creek starts region 2-0

LAWRENCEVILLE — Mill Creek's Region 6-AAAAAAA schedule opened on Tuesday night at Mountain View with the Hawks getting a pair of wins, topping the host Bears 25-13, 25-4 and Discovery 25-7, 25-9.

Leaders for Mill Creek (23-2, 2-0) were Taylor Heu with seven aces, Sonya Silecky with eight kills and seven aces, Aiyana Bermudez with nine aces and seven kills and Mar'ria Phillips with eight kills.

Parkview opens region play with two wins

NORCROSS — Parkview opened its Region 7-AAAAAAA schedule with two wins on Thursday at Meadowcreek, sweeping Central Gwinnett 25-8, 25-7 and Berkmar 25-8, 25-10.

Jordan Godfree led the Panthers (17-9, 2-0) in serving with 10 aces, while C.C. Halsey had a solid night at the net with six blocks and four kills.

Norcross wins two on the road, Brookwood splits

ATLANTA — Norcross picked up two Region 7-AAAAAAA wins on the road Tuesday night, beating Brookwood 25-16, 25-20 and host Lakeside-DeKalb 25-15, 25-12.

Janna Schlageter led the Blue Devils (18-4, 2-0) in hitting with 26 kills, while Claire Catterton added 10 kills. Bella Murray finished with 41 assists and nine digs with Reesa Schroeder leading the defense with 11 digs.

Brookwood (14-11, 1-1) would go home with a split as the Broncos bounced back to beat Lakeside 25-15, 25-20. Top players were Abbey Tucker (32 assists, 15 digs, five kills), Sophia Koop (16 kills, 11 digs), Cydney Garnder (15 digs, seven kills), Amber Williams (nine kills, two aces) and Ellie Rey (23 digs).

Dacula falls to Gainesville and Apalachee

SUGAR HILL — Dacula dropped a pair of Region 8-AAAAAA matches at Lanier on Tuesday, falling to Gainesville 25-22, 25-14 and Apalachee 25-11, 25-17.

Dacula (0-4 region) was led by 14 kills from Arissa Shepherd.

Anna Beth Stokes also had seven kills, two aces and one block, while Kaya Gasaef finished with 27 digs and 100% in serves.

Hebron stays unbeaten in area, Providence gets split

LILBURN — Hebron Christian improved its Area 7-A record to 3-0 on Tuesday night with a 25-18, 25-17 win at Providence Christian.

The Lions (21-5, 3-0) also faced Archer in a non-region match and came away with a 25-14, 25-12 sweep.

Leading the way were Hayden McGee with 19 kills, Malia Fisher with nine kills, Carly Heidger with eight kills and Abbi Luke with 31 assists.

Providence rebounded after its loss to Hebron to top Archer 25-14, 25-12.

Alaina Emminger led the Storm (15-10, 0-2) with 17 kills and three blocks. Lauren Yost also had 16 assists and three aces, while Taylor Lewis finished with five aces.

SOFTBALL

Grayson 13, Shiloh 1 (4 inn.)

LOGANVILLE — Grayson starter Kayla Snowden allowed one unearned run in four innings on three hits with five strikeouts on Tuesday in leading the Rams to a 13-1 home win in four innings over Shiloh.

Aaliyah White had two hits, including a homer, to lead Grayson (12-2, 5-0 in Region 8-AAAAAAA), while Amber Austin had two hits.

Also contributing for the Rams were Sam Smith with three RBIs, Jordyn Green with two RBIs and Carter Freeman with one RBI.

Cedar Shoals 13, Discovery 10

ATHENS — Cedar Shoals outslugged Discovery 13-10 on Tuesday night.

The Titans (4-7) were led by Alanah Perry, who went 1-for-1 with an RBI and three runs. JaNiece Long also went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run, while Karla Angeles finished 1-for-3 with a bunt single.

Harleen Walia started and went four innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out four.

George Walton 2, Hebron Christian 0

MONROE — George Walton Academy held Hebron Christian to just two hits on Tuesday night as the Bulldogs shut out the Lions 2-0 in a Region 8-A game.

Sydney Harris and Macy Poisal had one each each for Hebron (7-7, 3-3).

Commerce 18, Providence Christian 1 (4 inn.)

LILBURN — Commerce topped Providence Christian 18-1 on Tuesday night in a Region 8-A game.

Sydney Flood had two doubles and an RBI for the Storm (1-15, 0-7), while Hannah Nolan had a hit and scored one run.

Wesleyan 14, Mount Vernon Presbyterian 1 (4 inn.)

PEACHTREE CORNERS — Wesleyan pounded out 16 hits on Tuesday night at home as the Wolves rolled to a 14-1 win in four innings over Mount Vernon Presbyterian in Region 5-A play.

Jahni Kerr went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Grace Taylor drilled two triples and drove in two. Adding to the attack for Wesleyan (16-0, 6-0) were Reece Holbrook (two-run homer), Tinsley Bertram (3-for-3, two triples, RBI), Riley Keller (2-for-3), Emma Nydam (two hits) and Elizabeth Bertram (two hits).

The win was collected by Jessica Nolan, who surrendered one earned run over four innings on two hits with five strikeouts.
