SUWANEE – Jared Ivey scored just before the buzzer to lift the North Gwinnett boys basketball team past Region 6-AAAAAAA foe Collins Hill 79-78 in overtime on Friday.

Ivey finished with 17 points, while teammate Brendan Rigsbee led North (11-10, 4-6) with 21. Josh Miles contributed 16 points and 11 rebounds and R.J. Godfrey added 12 points and 16 boards in the victory.


Central Gwinnett 62, Brookwood 56

LAWRENCEVILLE – Central Gwinnett held off visiting Brookwood 62-56 on Friday.

The Region 7-AAAAAAA win improves the Black Knights to 6-16 overall and 3-8 in the region. Daquan Hawkins and Skylar Adams each had 15 points to lead Central.

Varun Danak led Brookwood (7-15, 3-7) with 29 points.

Berkmar 72, Parkview 69

LILBURN – Berkmar held off host Parkview 72-69 in Region 7-AAAAAAA on Friday.

Malique Ewin led the Patriots (12-9, 8-2) with 20 points. Cam Blount scored 18 and Jalen DeLoach scored 10 for Berkmar.

Discovery 65, Mill Creek 51

HOSCHTON – Discovery defeated Mill Creek 65-51 in Region 6-AAAAAAA on Friday.

London Riley led the Titans (13-10, 8-2) with 20 points. Charles Blamo scored 18 while Ian Davis finished with 10.

Zion Wimby led Mill Creek (12-11, 5-6) with 16 points.

Archer 49, South Gwinnett 41

SNELLVILLE – Archer evened up its Region 8-AAAAAAA record with a 49-41 win over South Gwinnett on Friday.

Brent Smith led the Tigers (15-8, 4-4) with 17 points. C.J. Hines and Areyon Johnson both finished with 11 while Justin Edmondson scored 10.

Peachtree Ridge 79, Mountain View 67

SUWANEE – Peachtree Ridge defeated visiting Mountain View 79-67 on Friday.

The Region 6-AAAAAAA win improves the Lions to 16-7 overall and 8-2 in the region. Christian Williams paced Peachtree Ridge with 21 points. Duke Clayton and Christian Sweeney each scored 12 while Jarius Griffin scored 10.

Mountain View (9-15, 2-9) was led by Myles Davis' 17 points. Justin Manus added 15 while A.J. Robertson pitched with 14.

Buford 73, Cedar Shoals 49

BUFORD — Buford won its showdown with Cedar Shoals 73-49 Friday in Region 8-AAAAA.

Sebastian Augustave led the Wolves (17-5) with 28 points. Cedar Shoals falls to 20-2.

Cherokee Bluff 70, Greater Atlanta Christian 58

FLOWERY BRANCH – Cherokee Bluff overpowered Greater Atlanta Christian and posted a 70-58 Region 7-AAA win on Friday.

Cliff Baskerville scored 22 to lead the Spartans (16-7, 7-3).

Wesleyan 61, Mt. Vernon 50

PEACHTREE CORNERS – Wesleyan defeated Mt. Vernon 61-50 Friday to remain undefeated in Region 5-A.

Micah Smith led the Wolves (14-5, 7-0) with 16 points. Wyatt Hodges and Jalen Fulwood scored 11 and 10 points, respectively in the win.

Providence Christian 67, Tallulah Falls 44

LILBURN – Providence Christian pushed past Tallulah Falls 67-44 in Region 8-A on Friday.

Elijah Williams scored 24 points and added eight rebounds while Chance Thacker contributed 15 points for the Storm (22-1, 8-1).

Hebron Christian 76, George Walton 53

DACULA – Hebron Christian pulled away from visiting George Walton 76-53 in Region 8-A on Friday. Scott Gabel led the Lions (16-7, 6-2) with 21 points.


Mill Creek 45, Discovery 34

HOSCHTON – Mill Creek defeated Discovery 45-34 in a Region 6-AAAAAAA match up on Friday. Sydnie Smith scored 17 and Alexis Figures pitched in with nine to lead the Hawks (10-12, 6-5).

For Discovery (15-7, 6-4), Akaya Chaney became the first player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau in her career.

Brookwood 66, Central Gwinnett 28

LAWRENCEVILLE – Brookwood defeated host Central Gwinnett 66-28 in Region 7-AAAAAAA on Friday.

Diana Collins paced the Broncos (12-11, 8-2) with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Selma Kulo contributed 19 points and 10 boards while Ciera Hall chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Archer 49, South Gwinnett 20

SNELLVILLE – Archer went on the road and defeated South Gwinnett 49-20 in Region 8-AAAAAAA on Friday.

Cazia Nelson led the Tigers (13-9, 4-4) with 15 points while teammate Taniya McGowan added seven points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Maya Jackson contributed eight rebounds and four steals.

Parkview 89, Berkmar 21

LILBURN – Parkview bested visiting Berkmar 89-21 on Friday in Region 7-AAAAAAA.

Lily Hart led the Panthers (13-9, 9-1) with 23 points. Sussy Ngulefac added 18, Joze Baker scored 14 while Maya Casmir finished with 10 points, 10 steals and dished out 11 assists in the blowout victory.

Collins Hill 83, North Gwinnett 22

SUWANEE – Collins Hill raced past Region 6-AAAAAAA counterpart North Gwinnett 83-22 on Friday.

Sacha Washington led the Eagles (24-0, 11-0) with 24 points while Eden Sample finished with 23. Asjah Inniss contributed 16 and teammate Jaliah Clark-Jones tallied 10.

Riley Jackson led North (3-17, 0-10) with seven points.

Peachtree Ridge 66, Mountain View 36

SUWANNEE – Peachtree Ridge defeated Mountain View 66-36 in a Region 6-AAAAAAA contest on Friday.

Nia Hicks led the Lions (13-8, 7-3) with 15 points, while Nadya McCown and Natelea Hill added 13 and 10 points respectively.

Buford 57, Cedar Shoals 33

BUFORD – Buford raced out to a 35-7 halftime lead and coasted to defeat Cedar Shoals 57-33 in Region 8-AAAAA on Friday. Tate Walters and Ashiya Willis each scored 10 points for the Wolves (22-0, 8-0).

Greater Atlanta Christian 48, Cherokee Bluff 41

FLOWERY BRANCH – Greater Atlanta Christian downed host Cherokee Bluff 48-41 in Region 7-AAA on Friday.

Kaleigh Addie led the Spartans (12-11, 8-2) with 22 points and eight steals. Ava Irvin added nine points while Laurren Randolph pulled down eight rebounds in the victory.

Hebron Christian 78, George Walton 18

DACULA – Hebron Christian connected on 12 3-pointers to defeat visiting George Walton 78-18 in Region 8-A on Friday.

Nicole Azar led the win with 19 points and dished out six assists. Carly Fahey collected 17 points and six assists while Malia Fisher added 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Jessie Parish finished with 10 while Sydney Whalen tallied eight and Carly Heidger added eight boards for the Lions (23-0, 7-0).

Wesleyan 74, Mt. Vernon 24

PEACHTREE CORNERS – Wesleyan downed Mt. Vernon 74-24 in Region 5-A on Friday.

Alyssa Phillip led the Wolves (16-4, 6-1) with 14 points and six rebounds. Avyonce Carter also had 14 points while Paige Lyons and Lanni Brown each scored 11. Lauren Hill scored nine points and dished out five assists and Kensie Pierce added six rebounds on the night.


Greater Atlanta Christian 56, Mt. Paran 0

NORCROSS – Greater Atlanta Christian blanked Mt. Paran in a a dual meet 56-0. Na'im Moss (120), Ronan Campos (126), Sam Marchiando (145), Nate Mixon (160), Hudson Higgins (182) and Bobby Kincade (285) recorded pins for the Spartans.


Wesleyan wins tri-meet

Wesleyan finished the regular season with a tri-meet victory over Roswell and Centennial on Friday.

The Wolves won the girls division with 235 points to Roswell’s 204 and Centennial’s 174. The boys team won with 275 points to Roswell’s 204 and Centennial’s 189.

Wesleyan got wins from Hannah Wasmuth (girls 200-yard freestyle, 1 minute, 59.27 seconds and 500 free, 5:17.15), Colton Villa (boys 200 free, 1:56.67) and Christopher Harrell (boys 50 free, 22.50 and 100 free, 49.70).
