LOGANVILLE — Grayson’s softball team split games Friday in its Ram Classic tournament.

Kylie Macy struck out 10 in a two-hitter, allowing one unearned run, in a 9-1 victory over Northside-Columbus. Emma Davis had two hits, including a solo home run, Nia McKnight had a two-run homer and Kelsie Walker and Kailyn Jones also had two hits each in the win.

Grayson lost its second game 18-10 to Mill Creek. Carrie Green had three hits to lead the Rams. McKnight, Jordyn Green and Kayla Lang each had two hits. Walker and Lauryn Peppers each added a two-run home run.

Grayson is 15-3 on the season.


North splits

LOGANVILLE — North Gwinnett went 1-1 Friday in the Grayson Ram Classic.

The Bulldogs beat East Coweta 8-0 in five innings with a complete game from Amber Reed, who allowed three hits and struck out seven. Caroline Shumeyko had a huge night, going 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs. Simone Leonard, Laila Sims and Ella Janish all had two hits apiece.

In the second game North (16-3) lost to Loganville 9-1.

Ringgold 6, Hebron 5

CHICKAMAUGA — Hebron Christian lost 6-5 to defending Class AAA champion Ringgold in the Gordon Lee Tournament on Friday.

Nicole Azar (1-for-2, run), Natalie Helton (1-for-2, run) and Morgan Smith (1-for-3) were among the standouts for the Lions (7-4).
