Berkmar's Fatou Barry

JOHNS CREEK — Berkmar’s girls basketball team had a chance to record its first win of the young season, but a last-second shot was off the mark, and host Chattahoochee escaped with a 42-41 win Wednesday night.

Fatou Barry scored 16 points to lead the Patriots (0-2), while Jasmine Walker also reached double-figure scoring with 14 points and Bianca Nwanne chipped in six points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Chattahoochee 67, Berkmar 42

JOHNS CREEK — Cam Blount finished with a team-high 18 points, but wasn’t enough for No. 5 state-ranked (AAAAAAA) Berkmar, which fell on the road at fourth-ranked (AAAAAA) Chattahoochee 67-42 on Wednesday.

Blount was the only Patriots (0-2) player in double figures, though Elijah Wood and Dara Olonade each finished with nine points.
