BUFORD — Peachtree Ridge’s softball team earned the No. 2 seed in Region 8-AAAAAAA and a home state playoff game with a 4-2 victory over Mountain View on Friday in a game played at Buford.

Mountain View will be the region’s No. 3 seed for state.

Jaylah Jarrell went 2-for-3 with a home run to lead the Lions, Madison Jenkins had a two-run single in the first inning and Zaia Hammond stole two bases. D’Amani Gadson was the winning pitcher, scattering 10 hits over seven innings. She struck out seven.

Mountain View (13-14) was led by Shaniya Jeffries (three hits, RBI) and Sarah Kate Sportsman (two hits). Ahmari Braden, Callie Shrope, Bria Finley and Rylie Smith also had hits for the Bears.
