Parkview senior Nieva Gaither’s decorated high school soccer career added another honor, this one from the United Soccer Coaches organization.

Gaither, the Daily Post’s player of the year in 2018 and 2019, was Gwinnett’s only United Soccer Coaches All-American and one of five Georgia girls to earn the distinction this season. She also was selected as the Georgia player of the year and was an All-Atlantic Region pick for the 2020 season cut short by the coronavirus.

Four Gwinnett girls players joined Gaither on the all-region team — North Gwinnett’s Bree Barley, Peachtree Ridge’s Maddy Bondon, Parkview’s Kendra Davis and Dacula’s Michaela English. Those players also earned all-state honors.

The all-state list also included two Gwinnett goalkeepers, Kelly Hall of North Gwinnett and Maggie Leland of Buford.

Only one Gwinnett boys player, Peachtree Ridge’s David Aguilar, earned United Soccer Coaches honors. He was named to the all-region and all-state teams.
