CONYERS — Gwinnett boys teams took five of the top six spots in the Area 4-AAAAAAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

Norcross and Brookwood finished in a tie for first with 58 points each, but the Blue Devils took first on the tiebreaker. Parkview was a close third with 60 points and Mill Creek was fourth at 73. North Gwinnett also qualified for state with its sixth-place finish.

Parkview’s Tristan Autry was the top local finisher, taking second in 16 minutes, 33.60 seconds. Teammate Caden Hall was third in 16:36.65. The Panthers also had Yonathan Tekle (12th, 17:08.59) and Andrew Todd (15th, 17:16.17) in the top 20.

Mill Creek’s Brian Pelland finished fourth in 16:37.66, and teammates Ethan Nordman (eighth, 16:56.23) and Paul Pollock (16th, 17:16.91) also had top finishes.

Brothers Miguel and Gabriel Schlicht led Norcross in fifth and seventh place, respectively. Miguel ran 16:39.12 and Gabriel ran 16:55.23. Joseph Winters (10th, 17:04.36) and Elliott Januzelli (14th, 17:13.99) also placed high for the Blue Devils.

Brookwood had the most runners finish in the top 20 with five, led by sixth-place Will Bray (16:44.70) and ninth-place Luke McNeil (17:00.37). Seth Wheeler (11th, 17:05.41), Jackson Harper (13th, 17:10.43) and Kai Vigardt (19th, 17:22.57) were the Broncos’ other scorers.

North’s top runners were Yianni Pothoulakis (18th, 17:20.52) and Carter Patton (20th, 17:23.42). Collins Hill’s Ben Brown was 17th (17:19.76).
