JEFFERSON — Jefferson stayed on a roll early in the season with a 40-7 win over visiting Mountain View on Friday.

Mountain View (1-3) was led by quarterback Nathan Payne, who completed 16 of 21 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. Mossiah Carter had 10 catches for 79 yards and a score, and Zay Wilson added two catches for 40 yards.

The Bears’ defensive standouts included Jaquan Ivy (caused fumble), Eric Jones (fumble recovery) and Trey Moss (interception). Darren Baggett blocked a PAT.

Jefferson improved to 3-0 on the season.
