LILBURN — Mill Creek freshman Leah McCarthy won the Gwinnett County girls high school diving championship Wednesday night at Mountain Park Aquatic Center.

McCarthy was steady in her first Gwinnett championship meet and scored 531.25 points, finishing just ahead of Brookwood sophomore Chloe Brothers. Brothers’ score was 527.50.

Brookwood’s Nadia Davis was third at 478.65, Collins Hill’s Dominique Goodman took fourth at 443.60 and Brookwood’s Kristen Davis rounded out the top five at 422.60.

The other top-10 finishers were North Gwinnett’s Morgan Lemmings (sixth, 421.90), Brookwood’s Davin Sambrone Darkins (seventh, 414.15), Duluth’s Yasmine Koster (eighth, 407.30), Lanier’s Prielle Zafft (ninth, 400.30) and Parvkiew’s Grace Littrell (10th, 391.60).
