Fellowship Christian Paladins (6-A)

Last week’s dominating with over previously-unbeaten and No. 6 state-ranked Mount de Sales has put Hebron Christian into uncharted territory.
Jeff Saturday’s Lions, who only started varsity football in 2007, will be making their first appearance in the state quarterfinals, and now face a Fellowship Christian team that is a little more experienced in playoff runs, though most of it recent, as the fifth-ranked Paladins are making their third trip to the round of eight in the last four seasons.
The Lions’ defense, paced by the likes of Jack Ihm and Michael Hilliard, has been very solid in the postseason, having allowed just 13 total points in two playoff games thus far, though they will get a serious challenge from a Fellowship running game that has piled up over 3,800 yards on the ground.
Five different runners have run for more than 237 yards on the season, led by , led by junior Murphy Reeves (152-1,425, 15 TDs), sophomore Josh Cole (67-644, 13 TDs) and freshman Jayven Hall (93-700, 11 TDs).
Saturday hopes his own offense will remain as balanced as it has been behind the running of Donnovan Moorer, Winston Gassant and Demetrius Rogers and the passing of Colten Gauthier, who was 10 of 15 for 193 yards and two TDs through the air in last week’s win.
Last meeting: First meeting between the two schools
