Player of the Year: Matt Sloan, Soph., North Gwinnett

The sophomore stepped into the No. 1 singles spot in the Bulldogs in grand fashion, posting a 17-2 overall record and going undefeated against the Gwinnett County competition, including wins over such top-ranked opponents like last year’s Player of the Year Thomas Montroy of Brookwood, Norcross’ Alex Karwisch, Mill Creek’s Andre Izadi and Peachtree Ridge’s Simar Bajwa (twice). Sloan is currently ranked the No. 12 sophomore in Georgia by Tennis Recruiting Network and has a top 10 Universal Tennis Ranking

Coach of the Year: Kent Doehrman, Brookwood

Guided the Broncos to a 21-2 overall record and the program’s ninth state championship, and first since 2014, by defeating North Cobb in the Class AAAAAAA title match

Led the Blue Devils to a 15-7 overall record, including a runner-up finish in the Region 7-AAAAAAA tournament and a berth in the semifinals of the Class AAAAAAA state tournament
