A pair of rising senior catchers for Gwinnett County high school baseball teams have been selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Baseball Game later this month.

Mill Creek’s Alek Boychuk and North Gwinnett’s Corey Collins will be among the 17 players on the East squad that will meet All-Stars from the West in the game, which will take place July 22 at 3 p.m. at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Boychuk, who is committed to play college baseball at South Carolina, was a first-team All-County selected by the Daily Post as a junior this spring after hitting .304 with five home runs, 34 RBIs, nine doubles, a triple and a .964 OPS in helping the Hawks (23-15) to a berth in the Class AAAAAAA state state quarterfinals.

Collins, a Georgia commit, was also a first-team Daily Post All-County selection this past spring, hitting .474 with a Gwinnett-best 16 homers, 50 RBIs, 15 doubles and a 1.933 OPS in helping the Bulldogs (31-8) to the Region 6-AAAAAAA title and a berth in the state semifinals before falling to eventual state champion Parkview.
