Gwinnett-based SwimAtlanta won the men’s, women’s and combined titles at last week’s Georgia Short Course Senior State Championships.
The club finished with 1,815 points in the combined division, topping runner-up Dynamo (1,567) and third-place Chattahoochee Gold (664.5). It had 955 points in the men’s division (to Dynamo’s 899) and 860 points in the women’s division (to Dynamo’s 668).
SwimAtlanta’s Tyler Schroeder was among the top boys performers with five, top-five finishes, including a victory in the 100 freestyle. He also was third in the 100 butterfly with a Junior Nationals cut, fourth in the 50 free, fifth in the 100 backstroke and fifth in the 100 fly.
Teammate Charlie Stout was runner-up in the 200 breaststroke and 10th in the 100 breast, earning Junior Nationals cuts in both races. He also took sixth in the 500 free, the 200 individual medley and the 50 breast.
Kevin DeGrijze won the 200 fly and was fourth in the 100 fly, and Grant Clark was third in the 200 breast with a Junior Nationals cut. He also was seventh in the 100 breast and 100 IM.
SwimAtlanta’s Abigail Tashlein was third in the 400 IM, sixth in the 200 back and eighth in the 100 back, while sister Sydney Tashlein was eighth in the 200 breast and 14th in the 100 breast. Krisalyn Henderson (fifth in 200 back, fifth in 500 free, 10th in 200 free), Sarah Livingston (fourth in 100 back, ninth in 100 fly, ninth in 200 back), Jenna Taylor (sixth in 200 IM, sixth in 500 free, 13th in 200 fly), Sydney Walker (eighth in 50 fly, 14th in 100 fly, 15th in 200 fly) and Noah Richardson (eighth in 100 IM, 200 breast and 200 IM) had three top finishes each.
Other Gwinnett swimmers with high finishes for SwimAtlanta were Courtney Niemann (fifth in 400 IM, ninth in 200 breast), Rucker Robinson (seventh in 200 IM, 12th in 100 IM), Daniel Tran (third in 200 IM, ninth in 400 IM), Mia Walters (third in 200 fly), Abigayle Wood (third in 100 breast), Blake Burnley (fourth in 200 fly), Charles Tu (sixth in 400 IM) and Jordan Hildebrand (seventh in 50 fly).
