SUWANEE – Mill Creek held off Peachtree Ridge 36-34 in Region 6-AAAAAAA girls basketball on Tuesday.

Ellie McIntyre led the Hawks (7-12, 3-4) with 10 points and five rebounds. Sydnie Smith scored nine points and provided two clutch free throws to ice the game. Olivia Wright and Mima Hrnjak each pulled down eight rebounds in the win.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Discovery 53, North Gwinnett 49

SUWANEE – Discovery held off a North Gwinnett rally as the Titans won 53-49 in Region 6-AAAAAAA on Tuesday.

Discovery raced out to an early 20-3 lead after the first quarter and was able to complete the win, improving to 15-5 overall and 6-2 in the region.

Akaya Chaney led the Titans with 17 points and five assists. Keyara Wooden scored 14 and Taylor Watkins netted 13.

Brookwood 71, Meadowcreek 16

SNELLVILLE – Brookwood blasted visiting Meadowcreek 71-16 on Tuesday in Region 7-AAAAAAA. The Broncos evened up their season record at 10-10 while moving to 7-1 in the region. Selma Kulo's double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds paced the win.

Mia Bongcaron netted 15, Cierra Hall scored 12, Diana Collins contributed 10 while Shannon Niles finished with eight points.

Dacula 69, Winder-Barrow 40

WINDER – Dacula defeated host Winder-Barrow 69-40 in Region 8-AAAAAA on Tuesday.

Lazaria Spearman led the way with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Keyanna Gibbs chipped in with 10 points while Haneefat Adanijo tallied eight for the Falcons (18-2, 5-0).

Lanier 51, Gainesville 23

GAINESVILLE – Lanier defeated host Gainesville 51-23 in Region 8-AAAAAA on Tuesday. Zuriyah Davis led the Longhorns (10-9, 4-1) with 11 points and Karina Lopez scored nine in the win.

Buford 69, Clarke Central 33

BUFORD – Buford had 14 players score as it remained undefeated with a 69-33 win over Clarke Central on Tuesday. The Wolves improved 18-0 overall and 5-0 in region play as Blair Wallis led Buford with 10 points.

Greater Atlanta Christian 71, Dawson County 59

DAWSONVILLE – After trailing second place Dawson County 15-2 early on, Region 7-AAA leaders Greater Atlanta Christian righted the ship and pulled away for a 71-59 road win on Tuesday.

Kaleigh Addie led the Spartans (10-9, 6-1) with 24 points and five steals. Jaci Bolden finished with 17 points, including four 3-pointers while Ava Irvin provided 14 points and five steals.

Wesleyan 83, Atlanta Classical Academy 10

PEACHTREE CORNERS – Wesleyan downed Atlanta Classical Academy 83-10 on Tuesday in Region 5-A. Avyonce Carter led the Wolves (15-2, 5-0) with 17 points.

Alyssa Phillip and Imani Washington scored 16 and 14, respectively while Lauren Hill tallied 13 and Lanni Brown added 11.

Hebron Christian 81, Towns County 32

DACULA – Hebron Christian moved to 21-0, 5-0 in Region 8-A with an 81-32 win over Towns County on Tuesday.

Malia Fisher and Carly Fahey each recorded a double-double in the win. Fisher tallied 22 points and 13 rebounds while Fahey went for 10 points and 10 assists. Nicole Azar netted 23 points while Jessie Parish scored 18 points and pulled down seven boards.
