The Georgia Cheerleading Coaches Association announced recently that its Georgia Cheerleading Coach of the Year Award will be renamed in honor of longtime Mill Creek coach Ashley Taube.

Taube led the Hawks to last season’s co-ed state championship in her final season before passing away after a long battle with cancer. In addition to her high school coaching, the Parkview graduate also was an all-star cheer coach and a former Atlanta Falcons cheerleader.
