The Atlanta 400 Baseball Fan Club will host its annual Metro Atlanta High School All-Star Recognition on May 31 at SunTrust Park.
Five Gwinnett high school players will be honored at the event, and Atlanta Braves broadcaster Jeff Francoeur, a Parkview grad, will be the guest speaker at the awards program, which begins at 4:30 p.m. It will be followed by a pre-game, on-field ceremony for the 2019 All-Stars.
The Gwinnett players earning recognition are Corey Collins (North Gwinnett), Alex Flood (Brookwood), Jonathan French (Parkview), Miles Garrett (Parkview) and Nasim Nunez (Collins Hill). The 2019 Player of The Year and Coach of the Year will be announced at the ceremony, as well as the Pete Van Wieren Most Outstanding High School Baseball Program of the Year Award, which includes $1,000 to the school’s baseball program.
Admission to the celebration is by advance reservation only. The deadline for reservations is May 29. The cost is $20 for Fan Club members with their own game ticket, or $35 including a game ticket. It is $40 including a game ticket for non-members. Reservations and more information are available on the club’s website, www.atl400.org.
