He is one of the most driven, focused and determined athletes that I have ever encountered. It was amazing to see the entire crowd cheer and support Jake as he willed his way to a national record in the 500 free with a time of 4:15.63. He broke a 35-year-old record. He set his sight on this record over a year ago. He is well liked by everyone that meets him because of his humility, sportsmanship, integrity and genuine character.”
