Each week during the winter sports season the Daily Post will honor a Fans Choice Winter Athlete of the Week based on fan voting during the week at www.gwinnettprepsports.com.

Voting begins by Monday morning and closes at noon on Thursday. The winner will be honored in the print and web versions of the Daily Post.

This week’s candidates are:

Thomas Allard

School: North Gwinnett

Sport: Basketball

Last week: Had 28 points and nine rebounds in a 65-60 win over St. Pius

Jairus Griffin

School: Peachtree Ridge

Sport: Basketball

Last week: Had 25 points, eight rebounds and two assists in a 79-72 win over Collins Hill

Nekaya Williams

School: Brookwood

Sport: Basketball

Last week: Had 14 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in a 69-46 win over South Gwinnett, had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a 62-60 win over Grayson and had 14 points and five rebounds in a loss to Kell

Ashyia Willis

School: Buford

Sport: Basketball

Last week: Had 19 points in a 68-45 win over Jefferson, the No. 1 team in Class AAA
