Brookwood’s Dylan Lonergan won online voting this week as the Daily Post’s Fans Choice Football Player of the Week.

The sophomore won an online competition with Collins Hill’s Travis Hunter, Meadowcreek’s Rock Gaither and Wesleyan’s Cooper Blauser.

Each week during the football season, the Daily Post will nominate four players for its Fans Choice Player of the Week. Online voting at www.gwinnettprepsports.com will begin by Monday morning and will end Thursday at noon. The winner will be featured online and in the print edition.

Lonergan earned the honor after completing 28 of 44 passes for a school-record 432 yards and four touchdowns in a Corky Kell Classic win over Dacula.

“I’m so proud of Dylan,” Brookwood head coach Philip Jones said. “I’m proud that he was able to set our single game passing record, but I’m more proud of how he approaches every day with his consistency, his work ethic, his commitment to excellence on a daily basis, his selflessness and his love for his teammates. I know this is only the beginning for him and all the amazing things he’s going to do at Brookwood over the next three years.”
