North Gwinnett's Frank Zhou returns a shot in the Region 6-AAAAAAA Tournament finals Wednesday at Hamilton Mill.

Two Gwinnett County students were selected as Positive Athlete Georgia statewide award-winners for the 2019-20 school year.

Duluth’s Rex Myers was Georgia’s honoree for boys lacrosse, and North Gwinnett’s Frank Zhou was the selection in boys tennis. Myers also recently earned the Northside Hospital Leadership Scholarship Award — the first Gwinnett student to receive the honor.

Every Georgia high school sport had one overall state winner honored by Positive Athlete Georgia, which recognizes young athletes who have overcome difficult circumstances, given back to their schools and communities in a significant way, or just have an infectious positive attitude that makes everyone around them a better person.
