DACULA — Hebron Christian’s football team endured another weather delay Saturday evening, but persevered for a 28-21 victory over visiting George Walton Academy.
The Lions (1-2) held a 7-0 lead Friday night late in the first quarter when weather rolled in and pushed the game’s completion back to Saturday. They extended that lead to 14-0 when Colten Gauthier found Donnovan Moorer for a long touchdown pass, then George Walton closed the margin to 14-7 by halftime.
After a weather delay, the visitors tied the score 14-14 entering the fourth quarter. Hebron surged ahead 28-21 in the fourth quarter and held on when Moorer had a game-clinching interception.
