Dacula's Adam Watkins throws the shot at the Class AAAAAA state meet in Carrollton.

Dacula junior Adam Watkins had an excellent showing at the National AAU Junior Olympics in Greensboro, N.C.

Watkins, also a football player for the Falcons, won the 15- and 16-year-old national title in the shot put with a throw of 55 feet, 1 inch. He also was fourth nationally in the discus at 155-1.

He finishes his 2019 track and field season unbeaten in the shot put, including a Class AAAAAA state championship with a throw of 58-9 1/2.

Brookwood hurdler and sprinter Nia Scott, a senior, finished fourth nationally in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.08 seconds, a new personal record. She already holds the Broncos’ school record at 14.14.
