Dacula High School senior defensive back and wide receiver Jalen Perry announced he de-committed verbally from the University of Georgia football program and has reopened his recruitment.
Perry posted a message on Twitter on Thursday night.
“After much prayer and many conversations with my family, I have decided to decommit from the University of Georgia and reopen my recruitment,” Perry wrote “This is an extremely tough decision to make and I want to thank Coach Smart and the entire UGA coaching staff for building a relationship with me and giving me an opportunity. My decision to reopen my recruitment is not a negative reflection of UGA’s players, coaches, or fans. I ask that you please respect my decision as I follow God’s plan for this next step in my life. Thank you.”
Perry is a four-star athlete in the class of 2019. He was a Daily Post Super Six football selection this season. He was a 2017 first team all-county defensive back with 44 tackles and 3 interceptions. He was also the Gwinnett TD Club DB of the Year.
